The annual Gold Gala, also known as the ‘Asian Pacific Met Gala’, celebrates pioneers from Asia and Pacific Islanders who innovate across industries. At this year’s edition, which took place on Saturday evening, designer Prabal Gurung was creative director, and Lucy Liu and Padma Lakshmi were among the stars honored.
On the red carpet leading up to the ceremony, many celebrities chose to spotlight vibrant designers from around the world. While Mean girls star Avantika wore a floral dress by Lebanese designer Geyanna Youness, singer Karruehce Tran opted for a bold monochromatic look by Thai Nguyen Atelier, a Viatnamese-American house.
Other stars, like Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Erivo, opted for looks fresh from the Paris runways. Yeoh wore a Schiaparelli Spring 2024 skirt suit with gold accents, while Erivo wore a grape-print skit from Balmain’s Fall 2024 collection.
