If you thought that tighter travel rules were a thing of the past, and something that you should not experience since the worldwide health crisis, think carefully again.

The South African ETA is presented
As confirmed by the South African Minister of the Interior, Leon Schreiber, the African nation will soon roll out its own Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system.
Mr. Schreiber stated that the ‘first phase’ of the ETA will take place between September and October 2025, and in the beginning it applies to G20 members. This includes countries such as the United States, China, Brazil, Canada and Mexico.

Current requirements for entering South Africa
For those who are already applying for a South African ETA this year, although it will not be mandatory in the beginning if you are an American:

Are Etas the new standard?
