In a recent initiative for expand The experience of travelers arriving at Cancun International Airport, 90 customs agents underwent an extensive three-day training program at the end of January. This effort follows at the Mexican association of Inbound Tourism Travel Agencies’ (Amin) previous training sessions for airport migration officers.
Sergio González Rubiera, president of Amatur, emphasized the importance of this training and noticed that customs agents are often the first contact point for tourists. He stated: “It seems that someone with a new vision has arrived.” The training focused on ‘quality in tourist service’, with topics such as emotional management, customer service and quality systems to guarantee a more satisfying experience for travelers.
González Rubiera emphasized the importance of continuous training due to the frequent rotation of airport staff. He also said that last year 30 officers from the National Migration Institute (INM) received a similar training, aimed at improving the quality of services and received treatment tourists on arrival.
