81.9 million trips – but this one is the best in Norway!Norway’s postcard villagesBergen: Norway of Heaven on EarthSubscribe to our latest messages

Whether it is Athens, Paris or now finds the only hospitable place in Spain, Europe always calls our name when we are ready to cash in our PTO.

But just keep it to make travel plans! A new report claims that there is a record -breaking train that is undoubtedly the best summer adventure in Europe.

Train in Bergen, Norway

It is perhaps surprised to discover that it is not France, Greece, Spain or one of the most striking names you would imagine; It is actually a stunning journey through the beautiful landscapes of Scandinavia where a record of passengers left Gobsmacked in 2024.

I was not one of them last year, but I experienced it in previous years and I can confirm: the Oslo-Bergen Railway has been held in my mind as one of my best travel reminders, and it will also be for you.

Just avoid burritos in Norway … you will thank me later.

81.9 million trips – but this one is the best in Norway!

Oslo. One of the most underrated capitals in Europe.

I was pleased to visit 3 times and it has been great every time despite the bruised bank account afterwards.

While I had to sacrifice $ 8 Red Bulls For the recordings of caffeine headache, Norway is really phenomenal of its hospitable locals, fascinating folklore, Hogwarts-like train stations and most beautiful fjords, something so beautiful that it does not seem possible; A real “squeeze” moment.

Unless you are already in Scandinavia, your easiest access point will be Oslo, a city with 3 direct connections from the US through highly respected Scandinavian airlines or cheap wearer Norwegian Atlantic Airways, possibly the largest bag of police airline on earth (make sure you wisely pack!).

After I have been to Oslo a handful of turning, as much as I enjoy the unique culture, lively waterfront and world -famous art exhibitions, it is best served by a short stay that makes a journey over the amazing landscape and postcard of Norway even more tempting.

A record of 81.9 million railroad trips happened in 2024 in Norway, but there is no doubt that the Oslo-Bergen Railway (also called ‘Bergensbares’ if you want to try Norse) is not only the most popular but worldwide known as the ultimate summer sensation.

There are a total of it 12 stops Between Oslo and Bergen, the gateway to the famous Fjords of Norway. Although it might be tempting to sit on your window for the entire journey, you don’t sleep on the in between.

Norway’s postcard villages

After departure from Oslo is the first stop DramA picturesque stopping point on the river before the real adventure begins.

The next piece escaped the citybustus of busy squares, line-out-the-door museums and never ending troll statements, trazing village after the village before you finally feel in a something like a Lord of the rings Film set.

Under the many charming stops on the way, these 3 are particularly remarkable:

Flå: Home Bjørneparken (Bear Park), this small village nestled in the Green Hallingdal Valley is the ultimate destination for nature lovers who can come up with foxes, bears, wolves, moose and more!

Finnish: Finish reaching is the pinnacle of the trip – literally. Finnish is more than 4000 feet high and offers a winter wonderland in the middle of the summer with snow -covered mountains in a huge vastness of raw, untouched wilderness.

Voss: Ever paid for too expensive glass bottles of water with “Voss” on the label? Well, you have reached his namesake! Voss offers a wealth of activities for sensational seekers, for which you can refuel, you guessed it, Fox water. This small village is the “adrenaline capital” of Norway with towering waterfalls, white-water rapids, skydiving, skiing and everything that makes your blood pump.

Bergen: Norway of Heaven on Earth

Fjord in Bergen, NorwayFjord in Bergen, Norway

There are almost 200 countries on our beautiful planet. I have only checked about 40 so far, but when people ask me for advice about where to go in Europe, Bergen is always a top hidden gem that I recommend, regardless of the season.

When I visited, it was during the winterand every above -mentioned village and beyond was one Feature film with shiny white snow Blankets and Winter Wonderland Magic.

In the summer, Bergen and the surrounding region get a whole new atmosphere, but even more lively and more lush.

If you are not familiar with Fjords, Merriam-Webster defines them as “a narrow inlet of the sea between cliffs or steep slopes”, which sounds much less fascinating than in real life.

Although I am not a religious man, it is difficult not to ask whether the fjords of Bergen have not been carefully designed. They are a living masterpiece cut by millennia of ice and water and form awesome cliffs, valleys and unspoilt waterways.

But it is not only the fjords outside the city, the cityscape is a charming destination itself with a picturesque main square that places life in perspective how small we are under the stunning peaks.
