On the way to Paris To visit a colleague Travel Off Path-er (looking at your Vini!), We drew the ultimate two-for-one travel trip: a Free stopover On a transatlantic flight.

Both PLAY And Icelandic Let your journey pause Iceland of No extra airline ticketsThat is how a fast stopover became a full micro adventure.

It helps that too Iceland rank #1 About the global peace index Again – stress – levels are low, and the landscape is of the charts.

It is the kind of place that makes you want to jump in a camper and want to get on the road stress -free … And that is exactly what we did!

Our 48-hour game plan (feel free to steal this)

Day 1: Land Early → Blue Lagoon → Seljalandsfoss Waterfall → Vík

We landed on Keflavík (Kef) Around 6 am, the Free Airport Shuttle grabbed Happy CampersAnd picked up our van.

The crew there has been chosen: rapid orientation, a smart Unlimited Wi-Fi hotspot In the van.

That connectivity made maps, messages and a bit of work on the way effortlessly.

From the beginning, when we drove away in our van, I knew that we had made the right call, skip a hotel and opt for this experience instead.

After we have taken our van We drove around 20 minutes at the Blue lagoon—The perfect jet-lag reset before going on the road. Weeks, shower, change in the van, make a coffee and roll out. (The lagoon is handy Close to the airport; Prefbook a timed entry.)

The Ultimate Jet-Lag Cure, powered by happy campers Iceland and the Blue Lagoon✨ There is no better feeling than starting a road trip this refreshed and ready to explore. Our van is all our favorite travel companion!

If you look at the prices and you wonder if it is worth it … we have done the same thing, Believe me.

My honest recording? It is one of those tourist items that you check out at least once, but I would probably choose one of the many other lagoons the next time we visit.

However, you can get some really great photos.

The next after the perfect spa morning was the Ring road Unpleasant Seljalandsfoss Waterval.

This is the South Coast Classic with a path you can walk behind the 60 meters Curtain – Magical and very smashing, so bring a rain layer (you should almost always have one in Iceland, to be honest).

We parked, walked and made a side lunch with the waterfalls that roared in the background. It felt like we lived in a movie and I dream of going back as quickly as possible.

We packed the day Vík With dinner at Ströndin Pub Vík (comfort food + local beers) and an easy late check-in Vík camping—Popularly with other vans that do the South Coast Sprint.

Facilities include showers, WiFi, a shared kitchen and laundry.

Day 2: Vikurfjara → A rainbow for ages → Reykjadalur Hot Spring River → þingvellir

When we woke up the next morning, I started to joke about a video about how beautiful Iceland was when I opened the curtain on one of our vans.

It had poured rain all morning, so I thought it would be a funny video to send to our Travel Off Path Group.

Although it does wax rainy, it was DELICIOUS. Seriously, every time I turned my head while we were in Iceland, something incredible would return to me, rain or sunshine.

@traveloff path Not only about Iceland, stop and explore it for free! 🇮🇸 Here is the Reishack that you need to know: airlines such as Iceland Air and play airlines and lets you book a stopover in Iceland for a maximum of 7-10 days without extra airline tickets. We packed a whole adventure in just 48 hours, and the MVP of our trip was our van from Happy Campers. It was all our transport, hotel and kitchen in one, giving us the freedom to see the best of the south coast without missing a beat. In 48 hours we walked: 💧 Threnched in the blue lagoon 🚶 Runs behind Seljalandsfoss Waterfall 🌊 Watched the sunrise on Reynisfjara’s Black Sand Beach ♨️ Walked to a hot spring river 🌍 ran between two continents at þingvellir who leased a fast Layent campsite ran. The in-van-van Wi-Fi and 24/7 drop-off made everything completely stress-free. Save this message to plan your own stopover from Iceland! You will not regret it. #Icelandtravel #Freestopover #Travelt tips #Happycampersiceland #Icelandadventure ♬ Original sound – Travel Off Path

We had slept more than we were planning, so we finished at the campsite and took a quick ride to a beautiful beach, Vikurfjara.

Sunrise Vikurfjara Black sandy beach provided those moody views of nautical and a safety recovery: Sneaker -waves here are not a joke.

Keep a wide buffer of the surf and pay attention to closures.

We spent some time drawing up the view, taking pictures and listening to the wave crash before we went back to the van to make breakfast. The benefits of a house on wheels mean home -made meals everywhere!

After breakfast it was time to head for a walk that we could not wait for, but we had a wonderful surprise along the way!

On our ride to Hveragerði” Iceland Bend his weather magic: the brightest, full rainbow We once saw over the fields, so lively that traffic has literally stopped staring.

(With Sunbursts and Showers all day Tag-Teaming, Rainbow observations are common– Keep your camera at hand.)

Then we walked about an hour to Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River. We took our time and took pictures along the way. There is a great photo on about halfway through a beautiful waterfall.

Make sure you bring water and perhaps a snack if you make it an afternoon.

There is one Small paid parking a lot at the base, and simple wooden privacy screens At the river – no enclosed changing rooms – so wear your bathing suit under layers if you don’t want to change for people (if you don’t care, nobody else does that too).

We slid into hot tubular water in the middle of the river and stayed ~ 45 minutes, thawed to the core. It was a super relaxing experience and worth the walk. The walk down again was just as beautiful as the walk, and our next stop was a national park nearby where the adventure all started.

An afternoon at Þingvellir National Park roofed –Hiking value North America And Eurasian Plates pulling apart is a geology-nerd dream and ridiculously photogenic.

Start with Hakið or walk Almannagjá Gorge For the classic “between continents” shot (the one directly below).

This was unfortunately our last adventure in Iceland before we left for Paris in the morning, but we made sure we enjoy our last night (even if we only slept 4 hours umn).

We spent the night next to the Happy Campers Basis on their Happy Camping Keflavik So we could roll 30 feet to lose weight from the van.

Their Shuttle runs during office hoursSo for a flight of 6 a.m. we booked a taxi in advance; the 24/7 drop-off Because the van made the return painless.
