Less than a week after wearing a much admired (and quite affordable) combination set of Sézane, the princess dressed in a double-breasted Zara blazer while watching England play Fiji in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals this weekend. She first wore the £65.99 one on a visit to Landau Forte College in Derby in February and has worn a scarlet version twice more – on visits to Kent and Copenhagen.
Whooping from the terraces and shaking hands with the England rugby team after the match, the Princess of Wales wore that Roland Mouret blazer and wide trousers, a stainless steel Cartier watch and a classic Chanel bag. None of these come cheap, of course, but many people will look up to the princess as an aspirational figure. The high-low appeal of her wardrobe is what keeps everything moving.
