The director of FITURCA Los Cabos reported that 2022 ended with the arrival of 3.4 million passengers by air, thanks to the tourism promotional measures designed to attract more visitors.
He explained that on this occasion the strategy aimed to promote the development of emerging markets with the aim of diversifying the visitor flow in the medium term.
The increase was driven by growth of 38.9% in the Colombian market, 51% in the Japanese market and 33.8% in the German market. These statistics played a role in Los Cabos registering more than 3.2 million passengers from January to October, an increase of 11.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
He also noted that, as part of the agenda of the Los Cabos VIP Summit event, the Advisory Council session was held with the participation of 69 business partners. They were informed about the actions carried out in 2023 and the strategy for 2024, which will make it possible to strengthen the presence of Los Cabos in the most prominent markets.
In addition, he pointed out that an event dedicated to social responsibility was promoted in support of the Corazón de Niño Foundation. An organization dedicated to supporting children and adolescents suffering from congenital heart defects in Baja California Sur.
He added that the seventeenth edition of Los Cabos VIP Summit 2023 will include 1,600 business meetings with key representatives of national and international airlines, travel agencies, tour operators and hotel companies to diversify the presence of visitors from new markets..
The event, which took place from November 13 to 16, brought each other together 69 tourism business partners from key source markets (United States, Canada and Mexico) and seven from emerging markets (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, France, Japan and the United Kingdom) that have seen significant growth in travel flows to Los Cabos, the Director General said of the Tourism trust.
