The Ivy League style, as adopted in Japan, was at the heart of Moisés Nieto’s fall 2024 show. The Spanish designer described his collection as “a truthful collection without artifice.” So understated pieces were the stars of an offering that updated this imported look popular among Japan’s youth in the ’60s and ’70s. , while also paying tribute to pioneering designer Kensuke Ishizu, who is widely credited with bringing the style to Japan. “The idea is to create fashion for everyday life,” Nieto explains. “[Itâs about] quality clothing that can be worn on any occasion.†This was clearly reflected in the range of jackets and blazers, worn with pleated trousers in a waterproof look for every day.
The entire collection is made from dead materials from the Spanish recycling platform Recovo. “Our principles and perseverance in supporting sustainable fashion led us to think about reusing excess fabrics,” the designer added. “Our goal was to create a simple, concise and practical collection.”
