Time has come. Siesta Key is officially eliminated … and it is not clearwater, the usual Silver Medal Placeholder who takes his place.
There always seems to be an annual battle between these 2 paradises in Florida.
In fact, every city welcomes beachgoers with a sign that claims to be ‘#1 beach’, but both cannot be true, right?

USA Today recently released the interpretation of 2025 from them Reader’s Choice Awards And the big winner for “Best Beach in Florida” was just as surprising as 2024, because there is always so much hype, especially focused on Siesta Key.
But it is not in southwestern Florida that we assume today; It is one of the few a few Blue flag certified Beach Getaways in America, nestled in the shadow of Miami.
Delray Beach: The surprising reigning champion of Florida
Delray Beach has won the same prize for 2 years in a row, and that is the most surprising fact of all.

Knowing or not, sometimes travel publications try to be cute by throwing their audience a curveball for clicking, which can easily be suspected last year, but there is nothing click-baity about Crowning Delray for the second consecutive year.
What is cute is the ranking of Siesta Key as #8 out of 10 in Florida, while clearwater is still fat and happy on #2.
For what it is worth, I’ve never been here. However, I went to Siesta Key and find it difficult to believe that every beach in Florida can surpass it.
Immediately when walking on the sugary white sand (and drag a cooler through it), I thought to myself: “I understand. This place is pure paradise.”

Well, before I noticed all pensioners in swimwear that clearly do not have a mirror …
But do Delray visitors feel the same?
No lie, the first review that pops up on Google Reads ‘I came here for Memorial Day Weekend and the beach is full of seaweed and smells for dead fish’
In general, Delray has an impressive 4.7 Google rating.
Small, yet powerful: 2 miles of unspoilt coasts
Hopefully the fish tank was the upper lip of that reviewer after too many tacos, but the truth is told, it was probably the aftermath of the Sargassum invasion that we reported about at the beginning of May.

That is what you get before not reading Travel Off Path, Bud!
Sargassum is an icky brown algae that is in principle impossible to stop, even with advanced notification. Unfortunately, the summer is Primetime Sargassum season in the Atlantic Ocean.
But Delray Beach is really unspoilt for most of the time. With only 2 miles of coastline between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, if the atmosphere was as described above, it would not meet the strict Blue Flag standards.
After all, there is a reason that there are only 2 blue flag -certified beaches throughout our country. Quite pathetic if you have been thinking about it since then Los Cabos only has 23 From them …

The waters of Delray are a lively crystal blue along soft sand perfect for beach day lounging or sunset states.
It is also super close to the city, known as the “Village by the Sea”, where you will discover Delray’s artistic vibes and hidden gems such as the Retro Silverball Pinball Museum and quietly Morikami Museum and Japanese gardens.
Where to stay in Delray Beach
No beach trip is complete without a great place to stay, and with Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach all at a short distance, Delray has a number of heavy competition.

The good news is that Delray has clustered a large strip of large hotels in this close paradise.
There is even a trader Joe, a block from the beach to stock up on beach snacks!
I can’t be the only one who is addicted to their Buffalo Ranch popcorn, right?
According to TripadvisorThese are the 3 favorite hotels of travelers in Delray Beach this summer:
- Opal Grand Resort & Spa
- The Seagate
- The houses on Latitude Delray Beach

If I was, I would choose Delray Sands Resort (Also an Opal brand) that Smack is on the beach and is reasonably priced at only $ 229 in the middle of the summer.
