By tracing “dissatisfied patriots” to go to the polls on Tuesday and to throw ballot papers in the Wisconsin elections, the Political Advocacy Group Vooruit trusted that America partially trusted in a reasonably dutifully Get-Out-Vote-Vote-Strategy: The spam on Monday with a text message.
That SMS message Came with a turn: it was accompanied by a provocative photo aimed at the genus of the intended recipient.
Men received a photo of Emily Ratajkowski – a supermodel and an old proponent of Bernie Sanders – in a bikini, while women received a photo from a topless man who wieged a puppy. The photo of the shirtless man was taken for the 2015 edition of the annual calendar “Hunks and Hounds”.
“Now that we have your attention,” the text was, “a critical special election will happen tomorrow!”
In the elections, the Wisconsin voters approved an amendment to the constitution of the State to strengthen a current law that required photo – identification in the polls – a measure that looks ahead that America supported – while he opted for a liberal candidate for a crucial seat at the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Matt Braynard, the executive director of Look ahead AmericaSaid in an e-mail that the organization “had carried out studies that have proven that the use of striking images that are not usually associated with politics, the consciousness of voters of elections and voters participation increases.”
He added that the organization would not know the effectiveness of its unconventional text limit campaign for a few weeks, but that it looked forward to reporting those figures.
Kijk Vooruit America, which was founded in 2017, identifies itself as a non -party, but has mainly focused on conservative issues, such as keeping rallies for people involved in the attack of January 6 on the Capitol. The group describes its mission as supporting and strengthening the voices of “rural and blue patriotic Americans who are dissatisfied and detached from the power corridors of the nation.”
Mr. Braynard, who founded the group, is a former member of the Campaign team of President Trump.
When selecting images to guide the texts, look ahead America went with the photo of the shirtless man, who was taken by the photographer Mike Ruiz for a calendar series that raises money for Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, and the photo of Mrs. Ratajkowski, who was Posted on Instagram By Inamorata, the clothing company she has founded.
Mrs. Ratajkowski, who refused to comment, was a peculiar choice, given her support to Mr Sanders and other left -loving causes.
Mr. Ruiz was not happy with the choice of the group to use his work.
“I am disgusting that they have used a beautiful philanthropic project to save animals in urgent needs, a project that means so much to me, to spread their propaganda,” he said in an e -mail. “You can quote me.”
Mr. Braynard defended the decision of his organization to use the photos without asking permission from the topics or the original photographers.
“All these images were originally shared publicly on social media,” said Mr. Braynard, “and our non -profit organization that uses the rise of the voter, forms ‘reasonable use’. We are not a partisely organization, so we were not concerned about partisely beliefs of the subjects, we just wanted striking photos.”
Tuesday’s election in Wisconsin was remarkable to, among other things, the involvement of Elon Musk, the businessman who played Mr Trump, who spent $ 25 million in support of Judge Brad Schimel, the conservative candidate in the race for a seat in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. Judge Schimel lost to his liberal opponent, Judge Susan Crawford.
Although Kijk Vooruit is watching America, Judge Schimel did not explicitly endorsed in his SMS report to potential voters this week, the linked to a graph Of the two candidates who claimed to describe some of the crucial differences between them about issues such as immigration, gender identity and ‘abortion in the late term’.
Mrs. Ratajkowski did not give public comments on the election results, but she had previously made her feelings about the political ambitions of Mr. Musk.
On the day before the 2024 general elections, the Pop Basis of the Social Media account on X reported that the rapper Azealia Banks had decided to vote for vice -president Kamala Harris because Mr Musk ‘nowhere belongs to American politics’.
Mrs. Ratajkowski repliedSaying: “Finally an approval I can find out.”
