The National Survey on Public and Urban Security (ENSU), December 2023 data shows that 91.1% of adults in Los Cabos identify potholes in streets and avenues as the most important urban problem.
Nationally, deteriorating road conditions due to potholes is recognized as the main concern by 81.1% of respondents. followed by deficiencies and leaks in the drinking water supply, affecting 60.2%. It is notable that this trend continues from the survey conducted in the third quarter (September) to the most recent survey in December.
By December 2023, nine cities, including Los Cabos, Tijuana, Torreón, Ecatepec de Morelos, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Uruapan, Guadalupe and Nuevo Laredoreported that 100% of their population unanimously identified various problems within their municipalities.
Specifically, in Los Cabos, the prevalence of potholes in streets and avenues was highlighted by 91.1% of the adult population, according to the findings of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). This was followed by concerns about bumps in the roads, mentioned by 80.3% of respondents, while the lack of adequate public lighting was noted by 73% of respondents in the municipality.
