Aruba (average temperature: 88°) 🇦🇼Cancun (average temperature 88°) 🇲🇽Turks and Caicos Islands (average temperature: 91°F) 🇹🇨Barbados (average temperature: 91°F) 🇧🇧

When the urge for a Caribbean getaway strikes, one thing is guaranteed: blazing sun, soft sand and turquoise water all year round.

Not to give our best Al Roker impression, but some destinations really are sunnier than others this time of year – and just a few extra degrees can make a big difference to your tan… or that crazy aunt who somehow gets sunburned anyway.

The expert team at Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) has released an insightful publication report for those of us exploring holiday destinations in April, whether it’s a beautiful island paradise or one of the many hotspots along Mexico’s Caribbean coastline.

At Travel Off Path, we strive to take the guesswork out of planning and spotlight the destinations that shine brightest – this time, literally.

So these are the Caribbean’s warmest and sunniest beach destinations for April, starting in the 80s and going into the 90s:

Aruba (average temperature: 88°) 🇦🇼

Aruba may have its own flag, but so does Slowjamastan. In reality, Aruba is a Dutch Caribbean island state that lies outside the hurricane belt.

April is one of the best times of year to visit for that reason, plus it’s just far enough away to avoid the majority of the rowdy spring break travelers.

The sun always shines in Aruba, creating a postcard-worthy masterpiece as your daily backdrop. With top spots like Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, there’s no shortage of beach days worth bragging about.

Not only is it beautiful all year round (especially in the spring), it is also one of the safest vacation destinations in the Caribbean.

After the unexpected chaos recently in Mexico, the time has come safe to say that travelers are prioritizing their well-being when booking international escapes.

For your peace of mind, our audience backs up the safety data with their own real-time recording, giving Aruba a current safety score of 90/100 on our proprietary Traveler Safety Index tool.

Cancun (average temperature 88°) 🇲🇽

Take it from someone (me!) just home from Cancun: this is prime time to visit Americans’ favorite beach getaway.

It’s in the Goldilocks zone, where it’s not too hot and not too cold, but just right for bathwater swimming with minimal seaweed, lounging in the pool all day, and endless margaritas in front of you. all-inclusive of your choice.

Although you’ll see an influx of all kinds of travelers from here on out, Cancun is perhaps Mexico’s most reliable getaway for vitamin D and stress-free vacations.

Like Aruba, Cancun also remains one of Mexico’s safest vacation destinations. I was here during the rough Puerto Vallarta and such and never felt left out, given the heavy police presence in all the right places.

Cancun is currently one of the highest-rated destinations in the world on our Travel Safety Index, giving Aruba an impressive score of 90/100 at the time of writing.

Travel tip: Keep in mind that there is a new one report calls Cancun an unavoidable hotspot for sargassum this spring.

Turks and Caicos Islands (average temperature: 91°F) 🇹🇨

If you want to visit the Caribbean, you’ve already seen it flash across your screensaver: there’s probably no place more pristine than Turks and Caicos. That’s why many ‘one percenters’ choose to vacation here… and stash their money as a tax haven.

Oops. Did I say the quiet part out loud?

This dynamic duo of islands offers powder-white beaches, incomparable turquoise hues and luxurious resorts, often without crowds, given the high price tag – the only negative feature that puts off tourists.

That said, the old adage “you get what you pay for” certainly applies here with the various luxury amenities, such as the island’s glitzy yachting culture.

Turks & Caicos is one of the safest paradises in the Caribbean, with a score of 85, just below the aforementioned Aruba and Cancun.

Barbados (average temperature: 91°F) 🇧🇧

With Jamaica still recovering from the aftermath of the hurricane, there’s probably no better alternative for combining culture, island vibes and eternal sunshine.

Take it from Barbados’ most iconic native Rihanna and lounge beachside under your very own umbrella-ella-ella.

I admit it was too easy…

It doesn’t matter whether you are on the Atlantic or Caribbean side of the island; the sun is shining and the coastline is beautiful with otherworldly pink sand beaches and paradisiacal swaying palms.

Barbados may not be rather as well known as the others, but it is currently the high season for cruisers and for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Punta Cana or do not want to risk disappointment in Jamaica.

It’s also considered very safe, but travelers rate it the lowest of all four destinations we revealed today.
