Have fall plans already?
Most fervent travelers have their favorite mountain cities, sunny beaches and actually everywhere with an excuse to catch the fireplace with a hot chocolate.
But an iconic American city practically calls the whole world to visit before Ice -cold winters give credibility to the name ‘Windy City’.

That’s right – one of our favorite urban escapes here at Travel Off Path was just crowned most connected Destination, which means that just about everyone here can come here faster than I can spot with a famous hot dog from Portillo (don’t try it at home, children).
The home base of amazing architecture, stylish hotels, apparently endless lively neighborhoods, eating world class and much more, now the perfect time is to plan a trip to Chicago, no matter how long you plan to stay.
Did you know that Chicago has 3 airports?
Let’s just leave the cat out of the bag – but be careful! Mr. Whiskers is Feisty!

As you probably guessed, the vast O’Hare International Airport from Chicago is currently the most connected American airport.
But before we dive into it, there is one thing that all travelers have in common – we like to avoid crowds.
It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned veterinarian as I or just start to branch past the boundaries of your hometown, the potential of long lines, grumpy TSA agents, being heard as cattle, and then packed like Sardines, someone can scare someone.
There is no doubt that O

Chicago, however, is the home base of a much smaller (yet very popular) Midway International Airport, anchored by Southwest and a select number of others.
Midway is no secret, but the nearby Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) is certainly if you have not been a “Sunseeker” loyalist at one of the trendy budget airlines in America lately.
RFD puts an hour or so outside the city limits. bus To transfer between airports from October 20, 2025.
This ever -popular cheap courier only offers Allegiant Air and offers direct flights to Rockford from 7 cities.
The world is your oyster at O’Hare

Although I personally never understood why someone would want his world to become a slimy sea bower, we will go here with the old saying because of the argument.
O 7th most connected in the world, Sitting directly behind Seoul (ICN).
Speaking of destinations of bucket list, whether you are going or from or from, O’Hare has no shortage of stunners to use your passport.
From September 1, 2025, O’Hare explained There are an estimated 126 daily direct flights to 67 international destinations – yes, you read that well …

If you own a scratch card as I own, it seems the best strategy to turn your card into Swiss cheese to fly from O’Hare.
Although there are clearly more domestic flights – an estimated 1020 daily direct flights to 181 American cities.
Although everyone has their own travel expenses lists, if I lived in the region, the following routes from O’Hare would certainly surpass mine, because they are less common compared to other large airports:
- Belgrade, Serbia (Beg) – Air Serbia
- Krakow, Poland (Krk) – Lot Polish Airlines
- Amman, Jordan (AMM) – Royal Jordanian
