As the 2026 World Cup kick-off approaches on June 11, the main concern for the expected 6 million traveling fans is quickly shifting from lottery results to survival on the ground. Spanning three countries, 16 vastly different urban environments and 48 teams, the 2026 tournament represents the most complex logistical challenge in sports history.

FIFA gives you stadium maps and fan zones, but they don’t tell you anything about real-time security or traffic disruptions. To solve this, Travel Off Path has launched the World Cup 2026 Safety Tracker. It’s a live tool built to show you the real travel risks in all 11 US cities, 3 Mexican hubs and 2 Canadian hosts.

What exactly is the safety score?

The core of our tracker is the World Cup Safety index for travelers (TSI). Forget sifting through complicated government crime statistics: this is a simple number from 0 to 100 that tells you exactly how safe a host city is to visit. And the best part? It is already live and monitoring conditions.

Currently, cities like Miami (85) and San Francisco (82) are in the very stable low-risk green zone, while densely populated, unpredictable hubs like Atlanta and Philadelphia have a moderate risk of 60. But it’s not just about crime. It actively monitors extreme weather events, public transport collapses and local street scams, so you know exactly what you’re up against before you arrive.

You can clearly see the Traveler Safety Index score for all host cities at Travel safety during the 2026 World Cup page. For example, here is Miami’s live safety score:

More than just a city assessment

A citywide safety score doesn’t help when you’re standing in a stadium parking lot at midnight. Our tracker focuses on the exact places where you will be.

  • Heat and weather hazards: In humid cities like Miami or Houston, the heat in the stadium poses the greatest danger. The tracker will show you the nearest hospital, like Jackson North Medical Center, just three miles from the stadium, so you won’t have to guess in case of an emergency.

  • Exact transit routes: We don’t just say ‘take the train’. We will tell you the specific station names and shuttles, such as the Brightline to Aventura Station. This keeps you away from traffic and prevents rental fraud in the suburbs.
  • Local scam alerts: We identify the specific tricks used in each neighborhood, such as fake parking attendants in neon vests in Miami or drag-and-switch traps in Dallas. If you know the trick in advance, you won’t lose your money.

Real-time updates

Before you book a flight or hotel that you can’t cancel, check the Traveler Safety Index. This is not an old government report; it is a live signal updated by fans on site. Whether it’s a storm in Florida, a huge delay at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, or the high altitude in Mexico City, you’ll get the truth right away.

Checking the Safety tracker for the 2026 World Cup is the easiest way to ensure your trip goes smoothly. Enjoy the tournament!
