Tulum repurposes an old airport into the new 7,237-hectare “Jaguar Park”, a cultural, historical and ecological project, as an important part of the sustainable development plan for the southeast of Mexico, according to the launch marketing campaign.

Images and videos released so far show an impressive natural landscape that combines the breathtaking jungle with the dazzling Caribbean Sea.

According to authorities, their ultimate goal is the conservation and conservation of the Jaguar by promoting conservation and low-impact cultural and tourism activities that are inclusive to visitors from around the world.

Scheduled to open between September 6 and 9, Jaguar Park features a new Mayan museum, 2.0 km of cycle paths strategically positioned to explore the Mayan ruins, walking trails, sea view points, tourist service modules, a restored lighthouse and much more.

The side facing the Caribbean Sea is already open to the public. Visitors have access to Santa Fe, Mangle, Maya and Pescadores beaches along Coastal Avenue, as well as public bathrooms and other tourist offerings.

Authorities clarify that these beaches have always been open to the community, but access was previously restricted.

Locals have expressed great excitement about the opening of the new property and the employment opportunities it brings to the region, which they say will benefit Mexicans from Quintana Roo and neighboring states.

“I didn’t think how far Tulum could go. I think this development is very beautiful and above all I am proud of the investment that has been made to show Tulum what it is: a beautiful place.” said a local woman.
