It has been a busy weekend in Hollywood. On Saturday, stars paraded carpets during the film Independent Spirit Awards and the NAACP Image Awards. Less than 24 hours later they were working on it again for the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The ceremony, held in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, honored acting performance in television and film. Like other events this Awards season, it also recognized those whose lives were called by the forest fires in Los Angeles, including members of the Los Angeles fire brigade, some of whom walked the carpet in their clothing uniforms.
The clothing of other people present was more flamboyant. A handful of actresses – Mikey Madison, Brooke Shields and Moeka Hoshi, including – chose silvery dresses that smiled a glimpse of disco balls or freshly beaten coins. Actors such as Jeff Goldblum and Colman Domingo have promised their formal wear with scarves and sparkling jewelry. But of all the appearance on the carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, these 14, for various reasons, more stood out than most.
Cynthia Erivo: Most of the space!
The ensemble of the “Wicked” star, made from woven silver fabric that was surrounded by the edges, looked like a chic version of the foil blankets worn by runners after marathons. The piece was in fact Givenchy archive from the Alexander McQueen era of the label.
Pamela Anderson: most angelic!
A halo of side-sealed pony, the white shade of her dior dress and an absence of makeup gave the actress, a star of “The Last Showgirl”, an atmosphere of purity on the carpet. A single sleeve, which called on the wing of an angel, was another heavenly detail.
Anna Sawai: Most Roulette Wheel!
Red and sparkling at the front, black and velvety in the back: the Armani private dress of the “Shogun” actress had the surprise – and the palette – of a classic casino game.
Timothée Chalamet: Most ‘Solander’!
The ensemble of the “a completely unknown” actor of leather suit, neon green shirt and bolo -stropdas seemed as if it could have been borrowed from the wardrobe of a certain fictional male model. According to an Instagram post shared by the stylist of Mr. Chalamet, the look was actually a nod to a similar outfit worn by Bob Dylan.
Selena Gomez: most thin!
The “Emilia Pérez” actress and the founder of the rare beauty radiated sophistication in a dark décolletage-framing Celine dress, a slender bob and red lipstick.
Millie Bobbie Brown: Most Glow Up!
With heavily bronze skin and bleached ice blond hair, the actress seemed to throw all persistent associations on her appearance in ‘Stranger Things’. Her care, in combination with her slinky peach-pink Louis Vuitton dress, called on visions of Malibu Barbie.
Jeremy Strong: most gnome!
In a green suit and shiny black shoes, the actor, a star of ‘The Apprentice’, saw as if he could be cast as a new spokesperson for Lucky Charms. The only thing that was missing was a pot of gold.
Marissa Bode: Most Cosmic Brownie!
A remarkable quality of the extensive dress of the “bad” actress was how it almost completely hid her wheelchair from certain viewpoints when she struck the carpet. Another? The constellation of beads on his dark matter left the ensemble for a beloved dessert.
Danielle Deadwyler: Most Noguchi Lamp!
The actress, a star of ‘The Piano Leson’, wore an architectural Red Louis Vuitton dress that was both delicate and geometric – just like the sculpture artist Isamu Noguchi’s Akari Paper Lights.
Drew Starkey: Most Ivy League!
The “Outer Banks” actor had treated all prepy basic principles in a Valentino ensemble or navy blazer, blue button -down shirt and kakis. The Pièce de Résistance? A long polka-dot scarf instead of a classic tie.
Ali Ahn: Most Coral Reef!
A colony of sea anemones came up in me when seeing the spiky shoulder floors of the Ashi Studio dress worn by the actress, a star of ‘The Diplomat’.
Jane Fonda: Most mustaches!
Covering the pale beads of the actress Armani dress were dark twists that each had the flair and wavy shape of a mustache.
Ato Essandoh: most not the tuxedo of your father!
From the waist, the actor, a star of ‘the diplomat’, had the elements of a standard white dress code. But a smoothly pleated skirt took his ensemble from Sivan, a label in Brooklyn, to a lake non -traditional place.
Fran Drescher: Most Fran great!
In her role in ‘The Nanny’, monochromatic suits were a stack of the wardrobe for the actress, who is now the SAG AFTRA president. If the silky suit Alexander McQueen she was wearing this year for the SAG Awards, it is because she was wearing the same to the 2022 Director’s Guild of America Awards.
