The long -term popularity of Prague does not show any signs of decrease.
In 2024, the city welcomed more than 8 million visitors, which is an increase of 9% compared to 2023.
492,748 of those visitors came from the United States, which means that the US came in second place (behind Germany and above the UK) in the list of the top three international visitor groups.

And 2025 will be another Huge year for Prague.
This is why the city continues to rise in popularity among American travelers.
A special celebration
A huge reason to visit Prague in 2025 is that one of the most famous attractions of the city, the Gothic powder tower, is celebrating its 550th birthday.

The powder tower was first built in 1475 and serves as the entrance gate to the Royal route. This is a road that leads to Prague Castle.
The city of Prague goes all the way to organize this special anniversary throughout the year, including compound tours through the structure and special exhibitions. You can even attend Medieval Craft workshops!
Perhaps the most exciting to honor this event, you can get a multi-ticket pass with a discount, giving you access to the powder tower, Old Town Bridge Tower and the Mala Strana Bridge Tower.

If you just want to visit the powder tower, make your first stop of the day because you can get 50% discount on admission costs During the first hour after opening every day.
Eternally popular attractions
I have already called Prague Castle for a short time, but if you only have time to visit one historic attraction in the city, this should be. This epic castle is the world’s largest old castle complex and dominates the city.
Although this may not be a new attraction, newly restored parts of the St. Vitus -Cathedral on the site were opened in 2025, so this will be an important focus of tours through the castle.

Other attractions that never go out of fashion, and that you have to visit when you spend time in Prague, are the Charles Bridge. This is a famous monument that connects the old city with Prague Castle and is a great place to get an incredible view of the city.
The astronomical clock of Prague, which is attached to the old town hall, is also a must-see attraction that was built during the medieval period and is a beautiful piece full of incredible details.
Away from the head of the city steal architecture? Prague is also a warm and hospitable city with a great night life scene.

The streets around the Wenceslas square are a great place to visit when you are looking for bustling bars and pubs and if you really want to party Karlovy Lazne. With five floors this is one of the largest night clubs in Europe.
Unique events and festivals
One of my favorite times to travel to a new city is during a big festival or party.
They borrow a festive atmosphere throughout the city, and I love rubbing shoulders with the locals while they drop their hair.

Fortunately, Prague has many events and festivals to choose from!
Spring fairs and festivals are popular in Europe and Prague will organize their own version of this between 1 March 21 April. The St Matthews Fair dates from the 16th century and is one of the most popular fairs in the Czech Republic. This year there will be more than 130 journeys and attractions to enjoy.
From March 1 – August 21, the new building of the National Museum is organizing an Olympic stories exhibition. This is a fascinating exhibition that is produced in combination with the Czech Olympic Committee to celebrate the performance of the athletes of the country from 1908 to 2024.

And if you are a gourmet, turn your visit around the island of Strelecký Time Wine and Food Festival. This takes place in the center of Prague of 30 May – 1 June and is a great opportunity to taste food and wine from all over the country, while also listening to live music performance by musicians from the city.
