The 51-year-old writer triumphed over five other finalists, including frontrunners Andreas Molenaar And Kiran Desaito claim the prestigious £50,000 ($66,000) award. Chosen from 153 submitted works, Meat was chosen unanimously by a jury chaired by the Irish novelist Roddy Doylewith members including actor Sarah Jessica Parker.
