Rest isn’t often the theme, but last week the stars had to hit the pedals at major red carpet events to recover. This didn’t hinder all activities as celebrities still found events to attend in colorful getups. The Urban One Honors was one such occasion that took out fashionistas last week, all championing elegance in a way they saw fit.
The looks
Tika Sumpter was on pink overload during her press rounds for The Underdog Movie, scheduled for release on January 26. She was stunning in a Harbison Studio skirt suit, paired with a sheer button-up shirt and metallic Casadei pumps, resulting in a sight to behold. Complemented with a flipped hairstyle and gold hoop earrings, this look was a perfect take on the Barbicore trend.
Former Destiny Child singer Letoya Luckett hosted the Urban One Honors red carpet, looking elegant in a high-slit Toni Maticevski number. She paired this soft-hued dress with edgy thigh-high boots and gloves, channeling ’80s Madonna with a subtle nod to old Hollywood. Her blonde pixie and diamond jewelry further accentuated the coordination.
Chloe Bailey gracefully wore an Onalaja-embellished jumpsuit during Jimmy Fallon’s live show. She wore this racy fit to perform ‘Sweet Like Honey’, and indeed we can say the same about her look. The statement belt, chunky bracelets and locs added a unique touch to the look.
