As the ground finally begins to thaw, travelers are beginning to plan their long-awaited spring vacations, with many considering a long overseas trip to Europe, where the pull of attraction-packed cities remains as strong as ever.
At least that’s what the latest is European Travel Commission Long-distance travel barometer unveiled.
The aim of the report was not only to discover how people currently think about traveling abroad, but also to shed some light on the most popular international destinations of spring 2024.
According to ETC’s carefully curated polls, these 10 European countries stood out as the most popular hotspots among American travelers.
1. France
It seems the most visited country in the world still has a stranglehold on travelers, drawing millions of people through its famous cultural scene and even better-known attractions.
Chances are, if you’ve been dreaming of traveling the world for a while, France is already on your bucket list—and millions of lucky Americans will be able to cross it off their bucket list this spring.

Think about it: where else can you find anything that compares to the historic ruins of Rome, the artsy streets of Florence, the rolling hills of Tuscany, the fairytale beaches of Capri or the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast?
3. UK

In any case, this time the choice is already for those who know what they are looking for on their next holiday.
If you’re looking for somewhere warm, fun and beachy, you can’t go wrong with one of the many dreamy hotspots along the Spanish coastline, while those who can’t stand the heat and prefer somewhere cooler where they can enjoy long excursions you will definitely enjoy Germany a little more.
