Winter, WHO? This week, the best-dressed stars on the red carpet and beyond were those who embraced spring silhouettes and chose pieces that were lighter and more cheerful. Forget heavy outerwear with thick layers: instead, Hollywood’s top stars have proven they’re ready to show some skin in a tasteful way.
Take Kylie Jenner, who was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a fresh take on a classic LBD; hers was from Alaïa, and the deep V dress was finished in latex-like leather. In New York, Sydney Sweeney attended a 92NY panel in a black square-neck dress from Shushutong, complete with tasteful lace inserts at the midriff.
That’s not to say the week’s more covered-up dresses didn’t shine. At a Portrait Gallery gala in London, Alexa Chung opted for Erdem’s draped-neck cocktail dress with floral motifs, while Olivia Colman chose a Taller Marmo fringed caftan dress for a Bad lowercase letters in New York City.
The more informal observations of the week, meanwhile, had an equally great impact. In Manhattan, Gisele Bündchen radiated rich mom energy in a denim skirt, turtleneck and wool overcoat. Also in town, Taylor Russell opted for the smart shirt, jeans and pointed boots from The Row. It shows that you don’t need a full ball gown to exude serious style.
