The 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs), held on May 11, 2024 and presented by IK Osakioduwa, was more than just a celebration of cinematic excellence. Once again, the red carpet served as a runway for Africa’s most stylish stars, showcasing groundbreaking fashion and creating unforgettable moments. From bold statements to timeless elegance, let’s take a look at the celebrities who really stole the show with their wardrobe choices.
The radiant host of the red carpet, Toke Makinwa, turned heads in a shimmering metallic mermaid dress by Nigerian designer Veekee James. The dramatic, oversized sculptural piece on the bust added a theatrical touch and made for a grand entrance befitting the prestigious event.
Again, Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo turned heads both online and offline with her stunning ensemble from Ghanaian fashion brand Yoli Koomson at the 10th African Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She wore an unconventional dress made of special 3D material. To accentuate the outfit, she paired it with Heidilee’s Endless Echo hat, which added an extra layer of drama. She completed the ensemble with a shiny Chanel clutch with shells, which gave the look some much-needed evening accent.
Amidst a sea of dazzling dresses, actress Osas Ighodaro asserted her fashion talent at the AMVCA Awards. Ighodaro broke with the ubiquitous corset trend and opted for a striking creation from Veekee James. The dress captivated with its intricate design featuring fine lines and circles, offering a refreshing look and reinforcing her status as a red carpet icon.
While the spotlight often shines on the ladies on the red carpet, some men have also made their mark. On-Air Personality Do2dtun turned heads with his attire at the 2024 AMVCAs. His pink trousers, decorated with embroidered designs, added even more flair to his ensemble. Chike’s Emmy Kasbit outfit struck the perfect balance between playful and sophisticated, making him stand out on the red carpet.
