The revival of trains for tourism shows no signs of stopping.
Now two of the most popular and iconic cities in Europe will finally be re -linked by Direct Train.
For the first time in two years there will be one Direct train service between Paris and Milan.
Two beautiful and culturally rich cities that are worth exploring.
This service was suspended in 2023 due to a landslide in the French Alpes, but the train of the Tentitalia France has just announced that the service would resume on 1 April (and no, this is not an April Danglingsag!)
Here is everything you need to know about this train route.
Exploring this exciting route
This route starts in Paris and ends in Milan, traveling via Turin.
The end-to-end journey takes a total of 6 hours 37 minutes or 6 hours 49 minutes, depending on the time of the day you travel.
The route makes two round trips a day, so that you can travel when you suit you best, and the length of your stay in every city can also be completely flexible.
You can spend a week with immersing yourself in Milanese culture or making Whistle-Stop tour through Paris for a few day. The choice is completely yours!
The train leaves at 6.41 am and 3.18 pm from Paris and arrives in Milan at 1.50 pm and 22.07. The trip back to Paris leaves at 6.25 am and 5.53 pm from Milan and arrives at 1.23 pm in Paris and 10.34 am.
And as an added bonus, tickets are incredibly affordable.
I looked at the prices for the week that the route is launching and tickets between Paris and Milan were 35 euros ($ 36.70) every way In standard class and 55 euros ($ 57.68) every way in business class. If you choose Business Class, these carriages have larger sun loungers.
A railway renaissance
This is the latest journey to be announced in what a real Railway Renaissance is, especially in Europe.
And new routes are always launched. Tentitalia France is launching a new French route in June, this time between Paris and Marseille.
If you travel between several European destinations, then it is likely that you will find train journeys as affordable and convenient as flying, maybe even more!
So why choose Paris and Milan? Both are iconic European destinations that attract a large number of tourists thanks to their culture, architecture, food and nightlife.
And both are international hubs with huge numbers of incoming flights from the US, making them great principles for wider European exploration.
Exploration of Paris and Milan
Paris is known as the City of Lights and the City of Love.
It is full of iconic attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysees who should explore every first visitor, as well as incredible museums.
And if you travel with a limited budget, many of these museums are free to come in. Explore the impressive Musée carnivalIt is devoted to the history of Paris.
The Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris is an excellent contemporary art museum that also has no admission costs.
And on the first Sunday of every month every museum in the city is also free, which is a good time to explore those places that interest you, but you don’t want to pay!
I love Paris, and one of the first things that jumps to my thoughts when I think of the city is the food.
If you feel your boujee, visit Ladurée for his reputable macarons. They are my favorite!
Do you not feel exerted? You can even get macrons from McDonalds in France! There is delicious food everywhere.
Do you want to eat in an authentic French bistro? Recoin is considered the best in the city Thanks to the locally produced ingredients and authentic dishes.
In the meantime, Milan is now a train journey of six and a half hours and has its own unique atmosphere and rich cultural heritage.
The beautiful Cathedral of Duomo is by far the most popular tourist attraction here, and it is an impressive place that every First-Timer should visit.
From here go Santa Maria delle Grazie: Here you will find the famous last supper of Leonardo da Vinci, and seeing in the meat is a bucket list -dream that comes out.
Do you want to relax and unwind? Go to the Parco Sempione, a huge green space and a great place for calmness in the heart of the city, as well as a great place for people looking.
