New Orleans?
Yes, that is old news – at least according to our autumn reporting of a unsuspecting Lake Town, Louisiana’s newest tourism – hotspot considered.
Now that the summer is around the corner, multi -cities are taking a completely different atmosphere than autumn, when you probably have dusted your northern facial jacket in the back of the cupboard.

As you know, the South becomes burning in the summer, but when there are enough resorts and hotels on the water to cool down in the swimming pool, weather reports go along the road.
While everyone melts in the sauna-like humidity on Bourbon Street, you could relax swimming poolside after a big win over the slots at one of one of one of one of one Lake Charles‘Name-Brand Casino Resorts, a city full of soulful heritage, picturesque nature and countless high-end stay perfect for an epic weekend away.
Escape The Summer Surter: SIP Cocktails poolside in A Lakeside Hotel
It doesn’t matter where you go in the south, temperatures can reach triple figures and the heat index often means that it feels hotter than the thermostat reads.

Lake Charles, the Texas-Louisiana line, pulled the short drop as far as the summer weather goes.
But the beauty is that it makes the towering hotels all the more tempting. You can cool down in the A/C while you splits and the Penny slots crossed all day, or you can take your car to the glittering swimming pool.
Such a place with a swimming pool to die is the Golden NuggetOffering more than 250 lounge seats, 29 Cabanas and a winding lazy river fun for all ages.
The next one L’AurbergeDescribed as a ‘tropical oasis’ with a lazy river, swimming bar and even a swimming pool for adults only on a real resort fashion.

If you haven’t caught yet, having a swimming pool is practically a summer need in Lake Charles. There is also Horseshoe Lake CharlesA brand Caesars-no, not the cheap tomato sauce bread that one necklace has the guts to name pizza.
The best part of Horseshoe is that the swimming pool requires that guests are 21+ to come in, and unlike L’Auberge, the whole of the hotel site is smoke -free.
Finally, there is The Marco Hotel To complete the most striking stay here. It has an outdoor swimming pool and usually cheaper rates than the other 3 just mentioned. It is also within walking distance of the picturesque waterfront Lake Charles Veterans Memorial Park and the locals’ Favorite drinking hole, Macfarlane’s Celtic Pub.
Creole soul: The steep history of Lake Charles and delicious cuisine

Louisiana is one of the most unique states of America, because influences from the past of European, African and Indian influences come together.
Like many of South Louisiana, Lake Charles has rooted a deep history in the Spanish and French colonial era.
Often mixed, the use of “Cajun” and “Creools” has two different meanings. Creole often refers to that of the so -called “new world” and European descent, but over time it lost its unique definition.
Anyway, Lake Charles is perhaps flashy from a distance with towering resorts on the lake, but surface level you will find proud locals and as a famous world traveler and chef Anthony Bourdain ever announced: “You learn a lot about someone if you share a meal together”.

Downtown is where you can find the heart of the city, away from chic excavations that pack it more. Those who think that New Orleans is the only place to spoil with Creole classics, are very wrong, and the center is just the place to change your perspective.
Leonard’s Food Quarters has been a community of the community since 1986 and is still strong, with Louisiana favorites such as Boudin Balls, Po-Boys and Crawfish Etouffee.
Leonard’s would certainly be my go-to-downtown, but for better weather views, there is no doubt Steamboat Bill’s Is your best gamble.

For something real ‘Creools’, the Creole Nature Trail Known as “Louisiana’s Outback” is always a great option for exploring the outdoors by exploring the Gulf beaches marathon, the road trips of the 180-mile picturesque byway, and whether even go fishing and scratching, but you may want to plan for an early morning or evening trail to prevent the Hitte.
There is a series of wildlife here for wandering, including alligators. To stay safe, the Creole Nature Trail does not only offer a ‘survival kit ‘but ideal routes So you won’t get lost as I would do!
What is happening this summer?
Lake Charles is known for activities all year round, even when burning warm weather. After all, it is known as ‘Louisiana’s Playground’.

You just missed the annual crawfish cook-off of the crying eagle this month, but the calendar to June and then set, there are plenty events To keep an eye on:
- Downtown at Sundown – 6 and 13 June
- The Holly Beach Crab Festival – 13 to 15 June
- Red, white, blue and you – July 4 🇺🇸
- The Cajun Music and Food Festival – July 19
- Marshland Festival – July 24
- Louisiana Food & Wine Festival – 18 to 21 September
