One of the main reasons why Los Cabos, Cancun and even American beach paradises such as Miami are so popular is simply due to the multitude of flight options.
Let’s face it – when it comes to beach holidays, we are not always in for an adventure. The perfect example would be Gulf Shores.

What has only been a road trip destination for decades, as soon as Gulf Shores opened his airport to the public last May, it was nothing less than a furious success.
Although the airport of Corpus Christi has been open to commercial flights, there have only been a handful of flights in recent years to choose from, forcing travelers to go out by the seemingly never -ending highways of Texas or opt for a stopover in Dallas or Houston.
Corpus Christi welcomes their first new flight since 1997 and hopes to get a page from the Playbook of Gulf Shores by making their lively city so much easier to reach a large hub and ready to prove that not all the banks of Texas are overestimated (no offense, galveston!).
Travel tip: With few flights you may still have a stopover on your way to Corpus Christi. Make sure you view the handy jet lag fixer from Travel Off Path!
Brackish waters?! This is not Galveston, partner!

Galveston is a nice beach city with a buzzing promenade, fish excursions and epic food, but if you go alone for a beach holiday, it is fair to say that visitors will be disappointed about water quality.
The same can be said for Corpus Christi’s Bayside with greenish -like, dark waters that do not continue with the test “I can see my feet”, although there are several pristine coasts at narrow distance.
Corpus Christi is a beautiful city that does not get the hype it deserves. I know because I have been there several times and it always gets the kink about Galveston in my book.
It does not matter whether you will visit relaxed beach days, nice tours, to vary on a balanced mix of southern and coastal kitchen, or to book a towering hotel room with a sweeping view of the water, Corpus Christi will not abandon you, especially now that it is so handy to come here this fall.

The truth is, even with all the surprising attractions that Corpus has to offer, from art museums to the USS LexingtonMost visitors do not stick to the city borders – they choose to go further south to nearby beach cities and islands that are worth a postcard much more than the immediate waters that crash Promenade against the seawall.
To prevent the typical brown-like waters of the Golf, here are 3 options for a photo-perfect beach holiday:
- Rockport: A quiet, nearby city offers clear water as part of the Clean Beaches Coalition Program
- Port Aransas (Mustang Island State Park): Known for turquoise waters, and that is possible Drive on the beach!
- Whitecap Beach: Corpus’s less reduced paradise with vast beaches along clear water
North Beach in the center is also very popular, but it is more about the vibes than on beauty.
Margaritaville, who? Discover Fajitaville and more surprising attractions

Who doesn’t like Margaritaville? Well, Corpus has a very different concept, but just as tempting.
Years ago I had the pleasure to discover FajitavilleA beach restaurant that stores the best sizzling Tex-Mex in the city with a large number of views of multiple levels and yes, they also serve handmade cocktails.
Corpus has become more a foodie destination in recent years, especially with Downtown’s Revitalization Efforts that bring in new restaurants, such as Streat Corner Kitchen and Marty McPies.
But as a born and ravaged Texaan and proud cult member of Whataburger’s next, the favorite hamburger chain of the south was founded in none other than Corpus Christi, who now accepted Shake Shack, In-N-Out, and five boys in a never-ending battle of hamburger supremation.

As popular as Whataburger can be in the south, Corpus Christi is specifically known as the hometown Selena, the iconic Pop and Tejano who was tragically murdered in the 90s.
You will find Odes in her legacy, including the Mirador de la Flor statue and the Selena Museum Which you can visit for just $ 5 from Monday to Friday.
A recent visitor claimed: “Visiting the Selena -Museum was one of the most emotional and meaningful experiences I have ever had.
Frontier’s historic new flight to Corpus Christi

Say what you want about Frontier, but they write history. Set to launch October 9, 2025Corpus Christi will receive his first new flight in 28 years, almost all my life, which is crazy to think about.
Frontier offers a single new route from Denver (Den), which operates twice a week, to CRP on Thursday and Sunday.
Travel tip: View the new hand luggage sizer tool from Travel Off Path. You certainly need to prevent substantial costs on budget airlines!
For a city of more than 300,000 inhabitants, this is not only big news to hopefully embrace a wave of economic boost through more tourism, but also to prevent the trip from being all the way to San Antonio or Austin to fly directly on its own vacation.
The possibility of flying through Denver (specifically to Frontier) offers a maximum of 120 destinations in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, according to the official official of Corpus Christi press release.
