Given the stunning coastlines of America of the lively coasts of the Golden State to the hidden golf’s hidden stones, not to mention the endless paradises of the Atlantic Ocean that completely extend from Key West to Maine, one could claim that the Midwest is the most overlooked region for an unforgettable holiday.
At Travel Off Path we understand. Cornfields shout not exactly an open invitation for a good time, right?
However, unlike some of the most beautiful beach cities in America, the Midwest takes on a whole new atmosphere, almost as if this vast heart country will be a living museum of the fall of the Splendor.

Travel experts at Midwest Living have certainly licked their pork chops so far, ready to unleash their favorite locations for the most beautiful outings – and they did exactly ‘30 Midwest Fall Color Betaways‘To choose from.
There is one that stood out the most, because I had the privilege to make back and forth since I was a little boy. (Sorry, I have written many British articles lately …)
It’s down That St. Louis Perhaps an unbearable, stuffy and hot mess in the summer, but one of the cheapest cities in America literally changes into the Val, and becomes one of the most wonderful escapes in the midwest.
Discover urban pleasures and the most recognizable national park in America

Is St. Louis an iconic city? Depends on who you ask. Although there is no denied that the famous gateway bog belongs to the conversation.
Let us be honest now – St. Louis has built up the habit of finding himself on the wrong side of the headlines. As such, no more place is grateful for Memphis for taking the ‘most dangerous’ city of the crown of America.
This sketchy reputation is exactly what ‘The Lou’ is held for so long. Although it is too familiar to be considered a “hidden gem” in itself, many people spotted on vacation here because of the ugly crime reports over the years.
But I am here to tell you that St. Louis has long been a favorite outing of mine, and most crime occurs in bags that tourists would not dare to venture.

You will love the undervalued characteristic kitchen of the city, wallet-friendly attractions (many of which are free), surprising culture and boundless nature outside the sign of the city limits.
The last time I was in STL, I continued to withdraw to the city center, with the aforementioned arch, trendy and lively neighborhoods such as the West End, incredibly beautiful forest park and the best area to dine in the city – the hill.
But really, if you thought Olive garden was the first place for one Tour through Italy On our bottom, then you have not had the famous roasted ravioli of the hill.
But the best meeting place is the withheld grassy tuber park under the arch, overlooking the smooth Mississippi river.

Although the bow itself is indispensable, you may not know that this is actually the site of one National parkAs a popular gathering place for the locals to enjoy the fresh autumn air and colorful foliage.
Although tourists love to ride the elevator for the wipe river/city view ($ 20 access).
The Mecca of budget trips: St. Louis has first -class free attractions
I am sure there is something free to do in every city, but you will probably run away and remind yourself of the old saying: “You get what you pay for”.
Perhaps it is a walking tour for nothing extravagant or a museum exhibition that turns out to be a snoozestest.
But St. Louis? They say keep my Budweiser.

Forest park Only you should surpass St. Louis wish list. With more than 45,000 trees, we let you do mathematics for what is in the store in the midst of the Kaleidoscopic transformation of the park in the coming months, when the peak magazine peeping season is at the end of October and early November if you are here earlier, you will not miss the long-term tradition of the Great Forest Park Ballon Race held on September 19.
The park is also the home base of several free-to-entry attractions, and not the kind I mentioned before.
We are talking about world class museums and the very good St. Louis Zoo.
In total there are four must-visit sights in Forest Park that do not cost you a cent:

- St. Louis Zoo
- St. Louis Art Museum
- Missouri History Museum
- St. Louis Science Center
Out for a road trip? Breathtaking nature is in close range
Forest Park should not be skipped, but if you want to increase your journey even more with the highest, rough beauty away from the city line, you have to do the Mark Twain National Forest.
Incaping charming small cities, spacious hiking trails and winding back roads where another car may not pass for hours, this region left a lasting print on my last trip.

The locals may disagree, but if you ask me, I would say that the best entrance gate is the little known city Potosi, About an hour and 15 minutes southwest of St. Louis.
The city is not only a pleasure to visit with a picturesque headstrip of boutiques, you will find one of my favorite places to raise for the day, a coffee shop/bookstore with a travel theme with a perfect Google-Rating- Am -edition.
For history lovers you will also find the cemetery of Mozes Austin, the founder of Potosi, and in particular the father of Stephen F. Austin.
But the most identifiable name is Mark Twain. The forest in honor of him is a playground for adventurers who are looking for undisturbed photographs in immense foliage accessible from countless access points in and around Potosi.
