Every destination in Europe is truly unique, whether from city to city, city to city or country to country.

Fellow experts at Kayak revealed one such city as Europe’s trendiest destination for 2026 – and guess what?

With 43 countries under my belt, I argue that the medieval capital of the Czech Republic is more beautiful than Pariswith what must be probably the most enchanting central square on the continent – ​​far more striking than a certain famous steel tower…

Just visited Prague – pictures don’t do it justice

Thanks to Travel Off Path, my office can change at any time, and some of the most amazing settings you can imagine.

I didn’t know much about Prague before my recent trip – just the usual “it’s so beautiful”, “the Christmas markets are magical”, yadda yadda yadda….

Given my years of experience galavanting around the world, I have to take these comments with a grain of salt. In reality, many cities that claim to wow people simply don’t live up to the hype.

Prague does not one of them.

If Prague were to offer more flights to the United States, it would undoubtedly become one of Americans’ favorite European getaways.

As I wandered aimlessly, looking at timeless wonders on display all over the city, the dreaded “iPhone storage full” message popped up on my phone and I had to ask myself, “Why am I even trying?”

Photos will not capture the medieval grandeur of Prague, such as the Charles Bridge, Old Town Squareand Prague Castle straightens out no matter how many angles I try to capture.

Prague is truly one of Europe’s most magical urban masterpieces – a living museum, if you will. According to Kayak, people are starting to catch on and are seeing a whopping 180% increase in travel planning…

Prague is very affordable and surprisingly delicious

Paris is far from old news, but why are Americans (and practically the world) obsessed with such a touristy, expensive city when places like Prague exist?

I wish I had an answer, but you’ll find me drinking cheap beer and masterfully crafted “peasant food” over expensive croissants and two-sip coffee.

While Prague may not necessarily be considered a foodie city, Prague has long been famous for its cheap beer scene.

But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I indulged in what is considered peasant food.

For example, their ‘dumplings’ look nothing like those in Asia or Eastern Europe; they’re essentially leftover bits of bread, shaped into thick slices that soak up every last drop of gravy or sauce.

My cholesterol may be up after a visit, but so is my mind: win-win?

Another victory is Prague not expensive to visit. Kayak reports a bit pricey airfare at an average of $695, but once you get here you can’t go wrong!

Depending on how long you stay, I highly recommend the city PID transit pass on what I found to be a super easy to navigate transit system.

Hotels and Airbnbs may see a slight increase over the holidays as Prague’s world-famous Christmas markets are still active, but that won’t break the bank.

Beer often only costs a few dollars, and the same goes for coffee. Tours weren’t outrageous either. We decided to enjoy the atmosphere of Venice in a hidden part of the city that many tourists overlook – definitely go with this Guided tour of Prague Venice costs approximately $20 per ticket and includes a free beer!

Do Prague’s Christmas markets live up to the hype?

Prague far exceeded all expectations for its Christmas markets, especially for a large capital with over 1 million inhabitants.

Old Town Square, anchored by Gothic spiers and the Church of Our Lady before Týnis one of the most majestic environments I have ever visited.

Best of all, it wasn’t exaggerated Busy. It was still quite easy to find space to enjoy aged Prague ham and your grilled sausage of choice.

It’s not rocket science to understand why people come here, and as Prague becomes more and more popular, as Kayak suggests, more people will surely discover Prague during the most magical time of year next winter.
