With sand-covered streets, delicious food, decent internet, and tons of co-working spaces to log in, this beach town is only becoming more popular with remote workers. And the epic surf density didn’t hurt his case either.
Digital nomads looking for a more authentic and rugged beach atmosphere can visit Chacahua, with its large Afro-Mexican community and fishing village feel. Some call Oaxaca the center of the Mexican culinary scene, and it’s easy to see why. In a country with amazing food like Mexico, you know a place has to be special to take the culinary crown, and Oaxaca is just that.

Beaches
The area is home to a mix of eleven major indigenous groups living side by side. And here you can see some of the largest populations of the last remaining diverse indigenous groups in the region.
While the city of Oaxaca is a big draw for digital nomads, the beaches along the Pacific coast are where many remote workers settle for a while. Puerto Escondido, Chacahua, Zipolite, San Agustinillo and Mazunte are all popular choices, and the communities of digital nomads and surfers are growing every month.

While the country of Mexico has no shortage of culture to enjoy and learn about, the state of Oaxaca with its deep unique cultural traditions offers lessons from a long history. From the colorful buildings lining the streets to the nearby ruins, there is a lot to see.
Oaxaca is officially a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is the nearby archaeological settlement of Monte Alban, a must-visit to see some of the Zapotec history.
