Quintana Roo breaks tourism record with 33.7 million passengers

Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama announced with which the entity has once again set a record in the tourism sector 33.7 million passengers.

“We have surpassed the record with 33.7 million passengers. In addition, the 12 destinations received more than 21 million tourists, an increase of 8% compared to 2022,” she says.

Also in 2022 tourism reached more than 21 billion dollars, which represents an increase of 12 percent, according to the governor.

“Quintana Roo is undoubtedly at his best. Thanks to all who make these figures possible. The transformation is progressing with shared prosperity, social justice and development,” she stated.

According to the Tourist Secretariat of Quintana Roo the ports received more than 6.1 million visitors in 2023, stimulating both the economy and the tourism sector.

“The tourism diversity of our twelve destinations sets us apart, not only in Mexico but around the world,” said Tourism Secretary Bernardo Cueto. “From paradisiacal beaches to cultural heritage: every place offers an unforgettable experience, and Quintana Roo is experiencing its best moment.”
