At a time when most people dream of white-sand beaches and tropical retreats, one beautiful European country has managed to rise in popularity thanks to its incredible cityscape alone: the United Kingdom.

But when it comes to a place this attractive, figuring out where exactly to go can seem downright impossible.
Fortunately for you, The Telegraph has just released its latest ranking of the best British cities to visit in 2024, and below you’ll find out which ones made the cut (note, in no particular order).
Manchester

We’re off to a strong start with Manchester, a city considered by many to be the cultural capital of the North.
And when you see Manchester’s iconic Town Hall, the Beatles Story Museum, the vibrant Northern Quarter and the Manchester Art Gallery for yourself, you’ll understand how true that is.
Leeds

Long living in the shadows of its better-known neighbors, this beautiful, vibrant West Yorkshire center is actually an incredible tourist attraction in its own right.
Here you can explore the historic Leeds Corn Exchange, wander through the breathtaking Roundhay Park (one of the largest in Europe) and browse the Kirkgate Market, where fresh produce and gastronomic delights await you to enjoy.
Durham

If you consider yourself a history buff, Durham is the right place for you.
The city is home to a UNESCO World Heritage-listed cathedral, a beautiful Old Town, and more museums than you can count. The city promises to take you on the ride of your life.
Liverpool

Whether you know Liverpool as a UNESCO World Heritage City or as the birthplace of The Beatles, one thing is certain: the iconic city will exceed even your wildest expectations.
So take this as a sign to pack your bags and visit the legendary Cavern Club, take a stroll along the postcard-worthy waterfront and marvel at the incredible works of art on display at Tate Liverpool.
Birmingham

England’s second largest city happens to be a haven for art lovers, shopaholics and foodies from all over the world – in short, every city tripper’s dream.
Here you’ll see one of the most extensive collections of Pre-Raphaelite paintings at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, browse the craft workshops and boutiques in the Jewelery Quarter and enjoy a fantastic meal at the Digbeth Dining Club.
London

Not only has so much been said and written about London, but the stunning English capital is experiencing such a renaissance among American travelers that chances are you’ve already been there or are planning to visit – and who can? blame you for that? ?
Between Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the London Eye, the British Museum and Covent Garden, there are so many world-class attractions in the city that you’ll need a rock-solid route to get around them all.
Brighton

If a bustling metropolis sounds a little too chaotic for your taste, Brighton might be the perfect place for you.
This charming seaside town just off the south coast of England will amaze you with its picture-perfect beaches, bohemian atmosphere and historic Brighton Pier, a stroll that will certainly make you feel like you’re starring in your own movie.
Newcastle

Looking for a place with both incredible nightlife and scenic views?
Newcastle is the city for you.
Not only are local pubs and traditional dishes nothing short of legendary, but the town is also home to a beautiful castle atop a hill overlooking the River Tyne – talk about breathtaking views!
Edinburgh

The list wouldn’t be complete without Scotland’s beautiful capital, a place so steeped in history and culture that even the most seasoned travelers are at a loss for words.
The cobbled streets of the historic Old Town will lead you straight to the picturesque Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile is filled with charming boutiques and traditional pubs where your days will be well spent, and the Writers’ Museum is just a culture vulture’s paradise – so, if you haven’t already, book those tickets as soon as possible.
Bath

Last but certainly not least we have Bath, a place that at first glance might be mistaken for a traditional Georgian hub.
And it’s precisely the unique architecture, Roman baths and incredible scenery that sets this South West England gem apart from all the other (admittedly beautiful) towns we’ve talked about so far.
