As much as we want to explore as much of the world as humanly possible, some places are just too beautiful not to visit a second, third, or even fourth time.
These are the cities or countries you would like to see again, the first names that come to mind when someone asks: “Where do you recommend traveling?”.
But how do you find that next great destination if you don’t have an enthusiastic group of travelers around you sharing all their experiences?
There’s the latest InsureGo report comes in.
The company analyzed thousands of comments and reviews on Reddit in search of the places people can’t wait to visit again – the destinations we can’t get enough of.
So whether you’re looking for a new city to fall in love with, or are just curious to see if your favorite made the cut, be sure to read through the top 10 below. starting with the last five spots:
- Mexico City
- Edinburgh
- Berlin
- Amsterdam
- Tokyo
Now let’s look at the best of the best, and I’ll tell you right away: Paris is not number 1.
5. Rome
As soon as I set foot in Rome, I knew I wanted to go back somewhere further afield, and it seems I’m not alone in that.
Travelers have fallen in love with the city’s old-world feel, Mediterranean climate and world-class attractions, the number of which is incredible.
You’ll need at least two or three separate visits to see everything the city has to offer, from the millennia-old ruins and Renaissance palaces to the cafe-filled squares where you can sit back, people-watch and sip the best espresso that you have ever tried in your life.
4. New York City
The only American city on today’s list is none other than New York, a place so iconic that you probably imagined its skyline as soon as I said the name.
Unfortunately, though, it really is as chaotic and difficult to navigate as they say.
Once you’ve explored the city enough to feel like you know the city, a new place opens up around the corner, convincing you to walk around again.
Even if you’re just seeing a Broadway show or walking through Central Park for the umpteenth time, New York always knows how to keep you coming back for more.
3.Barcelona
We travel to Europe and stay there for the top three places.
First we stop in Barcelona, a sunny gem that is both visually and culturally captivating.
The millions of photos you may have seen of the Sagrada Família and Park Güell can never capture how breathtaking these places are in real life, and when you understand that this is just a sliver of Barcelona’s thriving cityscape, it is nothing more than normal to want to go back again and again until you manage to see everything.
Not to mention the sun-drenched beaches and otherworldly food whose taste lingers long after the last bite – you have to try these for yourself.
2. Paris
Okay, so it’s not #1, but Paris had yet to appear.
As much as travelers like to complain that Paris is getting dirtier and busier by the day (which is all true, by the way), they don’t seem to be in a hurry to stop visiting the French capital anytime soon.
And who can blame them?
Getting the chance to see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame or the Louvre is special enough the first time, and if you get the chance to do it twice?
Well, you can’t say no to that.
1. London
At the top of today’s list is a city that has been taking over all the travel news lately: London.
The English capital is experiencing what can only be described as a tourism renaissance, breaking record after record and topping the international rankings with no signs of slowing down.
Whether it’s a tour of Buckingham Palace, a play in the West End or the incredible street art scene in Shoreditch, there’s always something exciting waiting for you in London, no matter how many times you’ve been there.
